Imperator's Breakfast 2nd Term 2019

The ‘Imperator’s Breakfast’ was introduced when the school opened in the 1950’s.   It has been used as a way to reward boys who come 1st or 2nd in class. 

The ‘Imperator’s Breakfast’ was introduced when the school opened in the 1950’s.   It has been used as a way to reward boys who come 1st or 2nd in class.   The Imperator’s Breakfast- ‘Imperator’ is Latin for ‘General’- has become a tradition at Hartmann House and is held in the term after we write examinations.   It is held in the Third term for the mid-year examinations and in the First term for the previous third term’s results when, sadly the Grade 7 boys miss out on this one as they have moved on to Secondary schools.

The breakfast takes place in a cordoned-off section of the Jubilee Hall- beautifully set up with flowers and decorations, thanks to Mrs White.   The breakfast consists of juice, fruit, yoghurt, bacon, sausage, beans, eggs and tomatoes with toast and tea; thanks to Mrs Haddad.   Mrs Carr, the headmaster’s secretary, coordinates the event.   It is a formal occasion with boys wearing their Number 1 uniform, the Rector is invited as the Guest of Honour along with the Headmaster.
