The aim of the club is to give the members the opportunity to use technology purposefully to create, organise, store, manipulate and retrieve digital content. By using a variety of software(Audacity, MS Logo, Photo Story, Scratch and Kodable) on a range of digital devices to design and create a range of programmes, systems and content that accomplish given goals. We look at Logo and Scratch, which are two of the most popular programming applications in primary schools. Occasional field trips help the boys see how technology is used in the working world.
Learning how to create digital content has many practical applications such as commonplace tasks such as word-processing, creating pictures using paint packages, working with digital photographs and video (including animations), writing computer programmes, and creating online content such as blog posts, forum contributions, wiki entries and social network updates.
The club meets on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Computer Lab 2 during club time.
